Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) on Thursday launched the new Honda Hornet 2.0 at a price of INR 1.2 lakhs. It’s an all-new motorcycle and is underpinned by a new platform. The new Honda motorcycle joins the Japanese brand’s India lineup as the flagship mass-market motorcycle.

Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, President and CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Honda Hornet 2.0 – Specifications

Honda CB Hornet 2.0 features an air-cooled, fuel-injected 184 cc engine producing 17.23 PS at 8500 rpm and 16.1 Nm at 6000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The top speed is expected to be around 130 km/h. If we talk about the brakes then a 276 mm front and 220 mm rear petal disc is equipped with single-channel ABS.

It also comes with friction reduction (roller rocker arm) and thermal efficiency-enhancing technologies (piston cooling jet) for optimum performance and mileage. Honda Hornet 2.0 mileage is expected to be around 40-45 kmpl. The engine is more powerful and torquier than the BS4 CB Hornet 160R’s motor, which made 15.09 PS and 14.5 Nm.

The Hornet 2.0 retains the design of the CB Hornet 160R. But now, it gets cleaner lines and has more bulk that makes it quite striking. And, with the presence of golden upside-down forks, this Honda looks quite premium. There are other premium bits like the LCD instrument cluster, LED lighting, and also some practical features like hazard switch. It now emphasizes on the street-fighter look with raging headlamp design with the X-shape tail lamp and the newly designed winkers.

Other features include the digital instrument panel that offers all the necessary readouts like speed, tachometer, fuel-efficiency, odometer, trip meter, service reminder, etc. The bike also features gear position indicator, battery voltmeter, hazard switch, and engine start-switch.

The new Hornet 2.0 is available in four colors: Pearl Igneous Black, Matte Sangria Red Metallic, Matte Marvel Blue Metallic, and Matte Axis Grey Metallic. The new Honda Hornet 2.0 will against the rivals such as Suzuki Gixxer, and Bajaj Pulsar NS200.
